ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrival Istanbul (D)
Arrive to Istanbul Ataturk Airport and our staff will transfer you to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 Istanbul - Canakkale (B, L, D)
After breakfast at the hotel, visit Topkapi Palace. The great palace of the Ottoman Sultans from the 15th to the 19th century was the private residence of the Sultan, home of the Divan (the seat of the supreme executive and judicial control of great empire). Today’s museum is housing an exquisite collection of crystal, silver and Chinese porcelain, robes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Tresury, miniature paintings. Blue Mosque, built in the 16th century during the reign of Sultan Ahmet 1, is an imperial mosque with magnificent interior decoration of blue Iznik tiles and is unique in the Islamic World due to its six minarets. Hippodrome Square, The Ancient Hippodrome, the place where chariot races used to be hold during the Byzantine Empire and the center of activities, celebrations in the honor of the Emperor, with three monuments, the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the column of Constantine. Lunch and drive to Canakkale, through the coastal road and town & villages of the Trakya Region of Turkey, the only part of Turkey in the continent Europe. Check in on arrival. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Canakkale.
Day 3 Canakkale – Izmir - Kusadasi (B, L, D)
After breakfast visit Troy, famous with the legendary Trojan horse from the times of beautiful Helen, The Queen of Sparta and Paris the Trojan Prince. Continue to Izmir, lunch en route. Check in on arrival. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Kusadasi.
Day 4 Kusadasi - Pamukkale (B, L, D)
After breakfast visit Ephesus; the best preserved of the world’s ancient classical ruins and most visited ruin site from the period of St Paul. – see the Odeon, Bouleterion, fountains, temples, brothels, library, theater, Temple of Diana and many more. The proceed to Pamukkale. Lunch en route at a local restaurant. Visit Hieropolis and Pamukkale; one of the natural wonders of Turkey with its white fantastic rock cataracts created by the hot spring rich in calcareous salts. Don’t forget to bring your swimwear to enjoy the thermal swimming pools of Pamukkale year-round. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Pamukkale.
Day 5 Pamukkale – Bursa (B, L, D)
After breakfast drive to Bursa. En-route you will have to chance to see unique landscape
of Asia Minor. Lunch at a local restaurant and continue to Bursa. Visit Green Mosque and
mausoleum upon arrival, then check in to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
(you may consider to enjoy the warm Turkish Bath at your hotel and rejuvenate your
body in hot spring waters of Bursa.
Day 6 Bursa – Mt Uludag - Bursa (B, L, D)
Today, visit this world famous skiing resort – Mt Uludag. With a height of 2543 metres, Uludag the ancient Olympos is today the most important winter sports center in Turkey. Access to the top is possible throughout the year. The mountain is now a National Park and nature reserve. The mountain called Mismos by the Egyptians; Calbyeers by the Romans; Misolymp by the Byzantines and the Mountain of Priests by the Ottomans, is located the southeast of Bursa. The mythological background is as follows: It is said that Zeus, The God of gods, once lived the top of Uludag then called Mt Olympos with all the other gods goddesses and their children and ruled his people from there. Under the Byzantine rule the mountain sheltered many Christian religious leaders and was known as ‘Kesis Dagi’ (Mountain of Priest) by the Ottomans. This worldwide famous skiing center is established at places called ‘Fatintepe’ (Fatin Hill) and ‘Kusaklikaya’ (Belted Rock). BBQ lunch, back to Bursa. Dinner and overnight Bursa.
Day 7 Bursa - Istanbul (B, L, D)
Breakfast at hotel. Drive back to Istanbul. Enjoying your ferry ride. Lunch on arrival in Istanbul. Then visit Soliman Mosque; 16th century mosque built for the famous Sultan Suleyman “The Great” and Grand Covered Bazaar; a covered bazaar of approximately 4000 stalls selling precious handmade carpets, jewelry, leathers to souvenirs.**CLOSED ON SUNDAY. Dinner and overnight in Istanbul.
Day 8 Istanbul – Home (B)
Free at leisure until transfer to airport for flight back home.
